Question: What Time of Day is Best for an Intermittent Fasting Window

Like so many who are interested in creating a change in their eating patterns to improve energy or create a physical transformation, you have likely heard about the wildly popular method of intermittent fasting and have wondered about how to schedule a fast in your day or week.

Intermittent fasting is a straightforward and easy to implement fasting method depending on the length of the fasts. Feeding and fasting are standard parts of the healthy human experience. We tend to feed too much, unfortunately.

Intermittent fasting is a popular method for calorie restriction that breaks fasting and feeding schedule int specific windows each day. There are several popular intermittent fasting styles, including periodic fasting, daily time-restricted eating, and alternate-day fasting.

In a daily fast, the window can vary by lifestyle and depends on which IF fasting method you have selected. If you are choosing a daily time-restricted eating pattern, then each day, you will avoid eating for 14-16 hours and then eat your meals during the feeding window of 8 hours.
Some people opt to lengthen the fasting window, only consuming food during a shorter window of time--such as four hours or even possibly 1 hour for those choosing to only eat one meal a day (OMAD).

The window can vary depending on lifestyle needs and social demands; however, one of the most popular windows is from 3-7 pm each day; this allows you to enjoy a few small meals and complete digestion before sleep.
